The nets were getting hot in the first half.  Covenant hosted the Fighting Scots of Caledonia on Tuesday, and come out on top with an 80-63 victory.  The Chargers came out on fire, hitting seven 3 point shots in the first quarter to take a 26-13 lead.  One more triple in the second quarter helped the Chargers maintain the 13 point margin.  In the final minute of the first half, the Fighting Scots scored 6 unanswered points to cut the halftime lead to 7 at 41-34.

The Chargers knocked down 3 more triples in the third quarter to increase the margin back to double digits, but the Fighting Scots again battled back, and closed out the third quarter with another 6-0 run to cut the lead to five at 57-52.

With 4 minutes left in the contest, Caledonia cut the lead to 4 points, at 66-62.  Covenant finished with a 14-1 run to close out the contest for an 80-63 victory.  

Caledonia was led by Jesse Hillis with 24 points, followed by Jesse Hillis with 18.  Benji Kuiper led the way for the Chargers with 19 points, and Nathan Minderhoud put in 12.  The Chargers, winners of 6 in a row, raised their record to 13-4.  They will host Tri-unity Christian on Friday, Feb 17 at 7:00.
