On Saturday, Oct 9, Covenant made the trip to Lansing Christian for JV & Varsity Soccer games. The Junior Varsity defeated the Pilgrims by a score of 3-0.
The Varsity match was a contest between two teams ranked in the top 15. Covenant took an early 1-0 lead on a goal by Jalen Van Dyke. The Chargers continued to keep the pressure on the Pilgrim's defense throughout the 1st half. Nathan Minderhoud drove one to the back of the net from 20 yards out to increase the Charger's lead to 2-0. The Charger defense limited the Pilgrim's scoring opportunities throughout the game, and hlped Keeper Chuck Kaptein preserve the shut-out victory.
The Chargers will host South Christian on Thursday, Oct 13. this will be the final regular season contest of the year. The Varsity will kick-off at 4:00.
