On Tuesday, Oct 18, the soccer team opened up MHSAA District play with a home game vs Calvary Christian of Holland.  Nathan Minderhoud opened the scoring at the 31 minute mark of the game to put the Chargers up by a score of 1-0.  Jalen VanDyke and Grant Flikkema each put one in the back of the net to give Covenant at 3-0 halftime lead.

Flikkema opened the 2nd half with his second goal of the game, and a 4-0 lead.  Quenton Griess and Brady Kuiper followed to put the Chargers up 6-0.  With 15 minutes left in the half Senior Jimmy Geerling attacked a loose ball, and blasted the ball into the bottom corner of the net to close out the scoring.  

Covenant stayed on the attack for most of the game.  The defenders did an outstanding job of keepin ght ball on the offensive end of the field.

Covenant will travel to NorthPointe Christian on Thursday for a 6:30 game, against an opponent that will be determined later today.
