On Saturday, Oct 22, the soccer team traveled to NorthPointe Chr to take on rival Calvin Chr in the District Finals.  In a hard fought game, Covenant came out the victor by a score of 1-0.  After a scoreless first half, Calvin opened the second half with a lot of offensive pressure, getting several opportunities.  Covenant began to regain control of the ball, and on free kick from the right side, Calvin Van Bemmel sent a pass across the front of the net, where Colten Miedema hit the back of the net with a header.  It was Miedema's first goal of the season.  

According to Coach Noorman, "The game was played in the middle of the field today. Both keepers were doing well. You know both teams play good defense when the score was 1-0."

This is the team's fourth consecutive district title. Last season's outfit bowed out in the regional semifinal, a memory that Noorman said his kids haven't forgotten.

The Chargers will travel to Cadillac HS on Tuesday, Oct 25 to take on Harbor Springs at 6:00 in the Regional Semi-final
