On Tuesday, the the soccer team, followed by many loyal fans, made their way to Cadillac for the Regional Semi-final vs Harbor Springs.  The Chargers opened up the scoring 4 minutes into the game.  A corner kick produced the opening goal, as two players put their heads on the ball.  Grant Flikkema got the assist to Jalen Van Dyke, who found the back of the net.  Covenant kept the pressure on for the first 20 minutes of the half.  Harbor Springs took the momentum for the last 20, but couldn't find the net.  Covenant carried a 1-0 lead into the break.  Van Dyke struck again in the second half on an assist from Aaron Westhuis to put the Chargers up 2-0.  Harbor Springs controlled the ball with some precision passing, and cut the score in half with 20 minutes to play.  

With 15 minutes left in the game, Nathan Minderhoud put on e past the keeper on an assist from Jordan Decker.  Covenant stayed on the offensive for the remainder of the game.  Minderhoud finished the scoring on a corner kick by Westhuis, to give the chargers a 4-1 victory.  Chuck Kaptein had 7 saves in the goal for Covenant.

Covenant travels to Western Michigan Christian for the Regional Finals on Thursday, October 27.  The Chargers will take on Muskegon Catholic Central at 6:00.
