The soccer team traveled to Western MI Chr on Thursday for the Regional Finals vs Muskegon Catholic Central.  A huge contingent of Covenant students and fans were in attendance to cheer on the Chargers.  The Chargers opened the scoring early in the first half.  Grant Flikkema took the ball all the way down the right sideline, crossing the ball to the center, where Jalen VanDyke put the ball into the net to give the Chargers a 1-0 lead only 45 seconds into the contest.  

The Crusaders tied the game 25 minutes into the second half on a corner kick.  The game would end deadlocked at 1-1.  Neither team was able to find the net in the two overtimes (10 minutes each).  A "shoot out" would determine the final outcome.  After 5 kicks, each team had put three into the goal.  At this point the game went into "sudden death" penalty kicks, where MCC came out on top.  

Thank you to out players and coaches.  You were outstanding representatives of Covenant Christian High School.  You conducted yourselves as Christian young men, both in victory and in defeat.  Thank You to ou parents, students, and fans for their support this season.  Thank you for "letting your light shine" during this soccer season
