The Lady Chargers home opener was a thriller that came down to the wire against the Lowell Red Arrows here on Friday. Lowell took a 19-13 lead into the halftime break. Covenant closed the gap to 28-26 after 3. Trailing by 1, with 9 seconds remaining, Brooke Mulder stepped to the free throw line and knocked down two free throws to give the Chargers a 41-40 lead and the win.
Mulder and Brianna Meulenberg led the Chargers with 11 points each.
